The GTA 6 Map
The state of Leonida, region by region
Welcome to the State of Leonida
Grand Theft Auto VI is not set in one city — it's set in an entire fictional state. Leonida is Rockstar's modern reimagining of Florida, and the neon-soaked streets of Vice City sit at its heart, surrounded by wetlands, coastline, small towns and highland forest. It's the same fictional geography that gave us the original Vice City back in 2002, rebuilt from scratch for a present-day story and a much bigger world.
This version of the map belongs to the modern “HD Universe” continuity — the same line of games as GTA V and GTA IV — so while the name Vice City is familiar, the layout, timeline and scale have nothing to do with the 1986-set classic. Leonida in 2026 is sun-bleached, social-media-saturated, present-day America: viral phone clips, alligators turning up in swimming pools, and the kind of chaotic local-news energy the internet has turned into a running joke about Florida.
Rockstar has framed it as the biggest and most immersive world the studio has built for a mainline GTA game, and community size estimates — while unofficial — consistently land somewhere between 1.5 and 2 times the scale of GTA V's Los Santos and Blaine County.

Plausible but unconfirmed, based on hints and inference.
The Six Confirmed Regions
Between the two official trailers and Rockstar's own promotional screenshots, six named regions of Leonida have been directly confirmed. Everything below comes from official material, not fan guesswork.
Vice City
The centerpiece of the map and Leonida's biggest city — a modern, dense rendition of Miami with art deco beachfronts, glass downtown towers, canals, a busy port, and the most detailed street-level design Rockstar has built to date.
Leonida Keys
A tropical, bridge-connected island chain south of the mainland, styled after the real Florida Keys. It's story-critical territory — both protagonists' starting apartment is shown here in the second trailer.
Grassrivers
Sawgrass marshland modeled on the Everglades, thick with alligators and best crossed by airboat — a vehicle class that exists specifically because of this terrain.
Port Gellhorn
A faded, once-popular beach town of cheap motels and shuttered attractions, described by Rockstar as running on cheap liquor and truck-stop energy drinks. This is where Jason and Lucia's story begins.
Ambrosia
A gritty industrial town built around the Allied Crystal sugar refinery, where a local biker gang reportedly controls most of what the refinery doesn't.
Mount Kalaga
Forested highlands and a national park at Leonida's northern edge — dirt trails, hunting camps and off-grid living. The closest thing GTA 6 has to Red Dead Redemption terrain.
Inside Vice City
Vice City is easily the most-scrutinized part of the map. The community has combed both trailers frame by frame and cross-referenced them against real Miami geography. A handful of these names come from Rockstar's own site copy; most are community labels and may not match the final in-game names exactly.
Ocean Beach
Pastel art deco hotels and bright white sand — the postcard image of Vice City that Rockstar led with on its own site.
South Beach
Sits just north of Ocean Beach and appears to hold the main neon nightlife strip — the densest concentration of bars and hotels shown in trailer footage.
Downtown
Aerial shots in the second trailer show dense glass towers and elevated highways, widely compared to Miami's Brickell district.
Little Cuba
Named directly by Rockstar. Modeled on Miami's Little Havana, with panaderías and Cuban-American cultural detail called out in the official region description.
La Perle
Haitian-themed murals appear across this district in trailer footage; the community label draws on Miami's real Little Haiti neighborhood.
The Marina
A quieter, wealthier waterfront pocket visible in Trailer 2, full of boats, jet skis and luxury properties — likely a key entry point for watercraft.
Tisha-Wocka Flea Market
Named directly by Rockstar as a spot for knockoff goods and street-level hustle — one of the few individual landmarks called out by name pre-launch.
Port & International Airport
The port is described by Rockstar as the hub of the city's cruise industry; the airport, based on Miami International, anchors the skyline near a Vinewood-style “Vice City” sign.
How Big Is It, Really?
Rockstar has not published an official number — every figure below comes from community analysis, and estimates vary. Treat this as a range, not a spec sheet.
Different community trackers land on different multipliers — some as conservative as 1.5×, others claiming up to 70% larger, and a few outlier calculations pushing much further based on unconfirmed leaked coordinates. The honest answer right now: it's clearly a substantial jump, but nobody outside Rockstar knows the exact figure.
What does seem consistent across every analysis is density rather than just raw size. GTA V had long stretches of empty desert; early Leonida footage suggests the state fills far more of its land with explorable structures, wildlife and environmental variation across its six confirmed biomes. Rockstar has also confirmed more than 700 enterable interiors, a huge jump from GTA V's relatively sparse interior count.
What's Still Speculation
Beyond the six confirmed regions, the mapping community has spent years pulling apart every frame for smaller clues — road signs, license plates, background landmarks, and leaked 2022 development footage. None of this is officially confirmed.
Gloriana
Background license plates in trailer footage reference a second state, “Gloriana,” widely believed to be Leonida's Georgia analogue. Whether it's playable or just set dressing hasn't been confirmed either way.
Lake Leonida
Fan reconstructions place a large freshwater lake near the center of the map, inferred from aerial trailer shots rather than any direct Rockstar labeling.
County Structure
The mapping community has grouped confirmed regions into counties based on in-game road signage spotted in the trailers, echoing how Miami-Dade, Broward and other real Florida counties are laid out.
Leonida Penitentiary
Referenced in Rockstar's own character bio for Lucia — one of the few named-but-unseen locations the community treats as effectively confirmed, even without a screenshot.
The 2022 Leak
Over 90 clips of an early build leaked in September 2022, showing the Stockyard area of Vice City. Rockstar confirmed the leak's authenticity, and the same buildings later appeared in the official first trailer.
A Panhandle Region
Earlier community maps included a northwestern panhandle; it was removed in a 2026 revision not because it was disproven, but because there was never direct evidence for it in the first place.
How the Community Reconstructs the Map
With no official world map released yet, fan cartographers rebuild Leonida the same way the GTA V community rebuilt Los Santos years before launch — piece by piece, from whatever Rockstar puts in front of the public.
Frame-by-frame trailer analysis
Every second of both official trailers gets paused, cross-referenced and compared against real Florida geography and previous GTA map conventions.
Background text & signage
Road signs, license plates, storefront names and billboards in the background of shots are treated as legitimate evidence, not just flavor text.
Official screenshots & press copy
Rockstar's own site copy and captions are the highest tier of evidence — anything stated there is marked confirmed rather than speculative.
Cross-checking leaked footage
Leaked material is only trusted once corroborated by something official — as happened when 2022 leaked clips matched buildings in the first trailer.

A note on accuracy: everything tagged Confirmed is drawn from Rockstar's official trailers, screenshots and site copy. Everything tagged Community or Speculation comes from independent fan-mapping projects and gaming-press analysis, and should be read as an educated best guess. This page will be revised as Rockstar releases more material ahead of launch.
