Unlock Times By Region
Rockstar has not published an unlock schedule. The times below are the PlayStation Store’s own availability timestamps, compiled by fans as of September 11, 2026. Each region unlocks at one fixed instant (midnight in its main time zone), so Pacific-time players in the US get the game three hours before midnight. Microsoft has not published an Xbox schedule. We will update this table the moment Rockstar confirms anything.

No timestamps have appeared yet for Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman or Qatar. Changing your Xbox region to unlock early has been reported to work only with a finished pre-load, is not sanctioned, and can be closed at any time; a PSN account’s country cannot be changed.
Pre-Load, File Size & Storage
Pre-load opens November 12
Rockstar confirmed digital pre-orders on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S can download from November 12, 2026. No clock time was given. Pre-load is not early access: the files sit locked until your region’s unlock time, and Take-Two has said no edition plays early.
The box has no disc
Physical Standard Edition copies ship from November 12 and contain a download code, not a disc. You cannot start downloading until the box arrives and the code is redeemed, so order early if you want the physical edition ready for launch night. The Ultimate Edition is digital only.
File size: still unannounced
Rockstar has not published an install size. The PlayStation listing has no storage figure and the Xbox listing shows a 328 MB placeholder. Working estimates from outlets run from about 120 GB to 200 GB, bigger than Red Dead Redemption 2’s 105 GB. Ignore the 676 GB and 750 GB screenshots; both were debunked. Expect a real number on the storefronts by November 12.
Make room now
Usable space is less than the box says: about 667 GB on a launch PS5, 802 GB on a Series X and 364 GB on a 512 GB Series S. Clearing 200 to 250 GB before November 12 covers the game and a day-one patch. On PS5 turn on automatic downloads and “Stay connected to the internet” so it downloads in rest mode; on Xbox use Sleep rather than full shutdown.

Which Edition To Buy
Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. Every pre-order, either edition, gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital purchases made before November 20 keep the bonus; the pack is a pre-order perk, not part of the game.

Platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. No PS4 or Xbox One version, and no PC release has been announced. PS5 refunds are allowed within 14 days of pre-order and only before anything is downloaded, so a June pre-order can no longer be refunded.
