The short version: SixStarsWanted is a fan site. We do not sell your data, we do not want your data, and the little we do collect is what any website collects to stay online and answer email. This page explains it. Last updated October 19, 2026.
Who we are
SixStarsWanted (sixstarswanted.com) is an independent fan site about Grand Theft Auto VI, run by a small team of writers. We are not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. You can reach us at contact@sixstarswanted.com.
What we collect, and why
Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical details when a page is requested: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your browser type, and the page you came from. These logs are used to keep the site running, spot abuse and fix errors. They are kept by the host for a limited period and then deleted. We do not use them to identify you.
Email. If you write to us, we keep your email and what you sent so we can reply. We do not add you to any list.
Fan Vault submissions. If you send us a fan film, we keep the file, the name or handle you want to be credited as, and the email you sent it from. The Terms of Use explain the licence you give us.
Forum accounts. When our forum is open, registering stores your username, email address, password (encrypted), the IP address you registered and post from, and the posts you make. Your username and posts are public. Your email is not shown to other members. You can delete your account by contacting us.
Nothing else. There are no accounts on the main site, no newsletter, and no payment details, because there is nothing to buy.
Cookies
The main site sets no tracking cookies of its own; the Google tag described below is the one exception, and it belongs to Google. A small amount of local browser storage may be used to remember a setting, such as a collapsed section. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. The forum sets session cookies so you stay logged in.
Embedded videos. Where a page embeds an official trailer from YouTube, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect data under Google's privacy policy once you play it. The fan films in the Fan Vault are hosted on our own server and involve no third party.
Google Ads measurement. Our pages load Google's advertising tag (gtag.js) so we can measure whether our own Google Ads campaigns bring visitors to the site. Google may set cookies and receive your IP address, browser details and the pages you visit here, under Google's privacy policy. You can turn off ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, or block third-party cookies in your browser. We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics.
Advertising on this site. We show no third-party advertising on sixstarswanted.com. If that changes, this page will be updated first and the ad provider's cookies will be described here.
Search engines
We submit our page addresses to Google and, through IndexNow, to other search engines so our articles can be found. This sends them our URLs, not anything about you.
Links to other sites
We link to Rockstar Games, news outlets, stores and other sites. Their privacy practices are their own. Read their policies.
Children
This site covers an adults-only video game, but the site itself is a news site and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@sixstarswanted.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, nothing on this site is sold or shared for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Where the data lives
The site is hosted in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your data is processed there.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top changes with it, and anything significant gets a post in Six Talk News.
