GTA 6 gangs and what their clothes mean: the Ambrosia bikers, Only Raw Records, Raul's crew, and what the screenshots say to trans players
Rockstar has shown three organised crews in GTA 6 and dressed each one like a language. Here is who they are, what their clothes say, how the wardrobe ties into the police, and an honest reading of what the screenshots do and do not promise trans players.

Hello. I am Ruby, I am new here, and my beat is the part of Grand Theft Auto that happens before anyone fires a shot: what people wear, who they stand next to, and what both of those things are telling you. Eve has already done the wardrobe. I want to do the uniforms. GTA 6 has three organised crews on screen so far, and Rockstar has dressed each of them so precisely that you can read their business from a hundred metres. Then, at the end, the question people keep asking me and that nobody official has answered: what do the screenshots say about whether trans players get to be themselves in Leonida?
Everything below comes from Rockstar's own character and location bios, the four trailers, the Extended Look and the official screenshots on this site. Where I am guessing, I say so.
The Ambrosia bikers: the only gang Rockstar calls a gang
Rockstar's bio for Ambrosia is short: an industrial town where the Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs and "a local biker gang supplies much of everything else." That is the only time the word gang appears in any official GTA 6 text, and the screenshots carry the rest.
The column shot is the whole club in one picture: two abreast on cruisers, a highway, palms, and every rider in a cut, the sleeveless leather or denim vest with patches that real motorcycle clubs treat as a sacred object. The portrait of the big bearded rider with the woman in the sunglasses shows the cut up close, with a name patch on the chest. There is also the party shot, two men in the back of a convertible throwing hand signs, bare-chested under open vests and covered in ink, and the night shot of the refinery lit up like a city.
What the clothes mean: a cut is not fashion, it is membership. The patches are rank and chapter. Bare arms are for showing tattoos, which are a record. Bandanas and wraparound sunglasses are practical on a bike and also make a face hard to describe, which matters in a game where the police track your face. Rockstar has not named the club. The refinery, the convertible and the word "supplies" put them in the same line of work as Brian Heder in the Keys: moving product, with Ambrosia as the inland end of the route. My guess, clearly a guess, is that Jason's smuggling work brings him to them early.

Only Raw Records: Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan and the Real Dimez
This is not a gang in the biker sense. It is a Vice City circle that Rockstar describes almost entirely in business terms, and the clothes are a business plan.
Boobie Ike is "a local Vice City legend" with real estate, a strip club and a recording studio, and he needs a hit. In the screenshots he wears a bold printed shirt open at the collar, heavy chains, a watch, and in the studio shot he is at the desk with the band of the mixing console lit up around him. It is money that wants you to know it is established money by Vice City standards: nothing to prove, everything to protect.
Dre'Quan Priest is, in Rockstar's words, "more of a hustler than a gangster," the man who books acts at Boobie's club and has signed the Real Dimez to get out of that job. He dresses younger and looser: oversized tees, a red varsity-style jacket, a cap, moving through the club with phone in hand. That is the uniform of the middleman, dressed to be approachable to the talent and unthreatening to the money.
The Real Dimez, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, are two women who shook down local dealers in high school and turned it into rap and a social media following. Their screenshots are the loudest clothes in the whole campaign: a shaggy yellow fur, a snake-print bodysuit, leopard, a lace-up top, big hair, big lashes, long nails, and in one shot the two of them with a phone up in the car filming themselves. This is the one crew whose clothes are the product. Their outfits are content, and the in-game social feed Rockstar showed in the Extended Look is where that content goes.
What the clothes mean here: nobody in this circle is dressed to disappear, because none of them do crime that needs disappearing. Boobie's shirt says ownership, Dre'Quan's jacket says access, the Dimez' fur says look at me. Walk into Boobie's club in the screenshots and the dress code is the org chart.

Raul Bautista's crew: the quiet ones
Rockstar calls Raul "a seasoned bank robber" who is always recruiting risk-takers and whose recklessness raises the stakes of every score. His crew is the one that will matter most to the robbery plot the launch trailer is built around, and it is dressed the opposite way to everyone above.
Raul wears a white suit over an open shirt, a plain watch, grey at the temples. In the boat shot and the phone shot he looks like a man with a legitimate business, which is exactly the point. The crew around him, where you can see them, are in plain dark clothes. Bank robbers dress like a witness statement that says nothing.
That links straight to the police system. In GTA 6 the icons under your wanted stars show what the police have on you: your vehicle, your clothes, your face, and whether you have a partner. A full change of outfit clears the clothing lead. The wanted level guide has the detail, but the short version for Raul's crew is: wear something forgettable to the job, keep a second set in the car, and never do a bank in the leopard coat.
The Keys and Port Gellhorn: dress codes without a crew
Two more looks, not gangs but worth reading.
Brian Heder's boat yard in the Keys is Jason's world: Brian in faded shirts and a cap, Cal Hampton indoors with his radios, Jason in tank tops, cargo shorts and a chain, with the tattoos out. This is the drug-runner-as-fisherman look, built so that a man carrying product looks like a man carrying bait.
Port Gellhorn is the faded resort town Rockstar describes as running on "malt liquor, painkillers and energy drinks," where dirt bikes are how you get around. The screenshots show shirtless men with full-torso tattoos, a wrestling ring in a back yard, and a fist fight outside a motel. No colours, no patches, no club. It is the one place in the screenshots where the dress code is simply poverty and heat, and it is where the Extended Look's backyard wrestling scene was set.
What the screenshots say to trans players
I am going to do this carefully, because the internet has not.
What is on the record. In 2022 Bloomberg reported that Rockstar had asked GTA 6's writers to be less crude toward transgender people and other minorities than in earlier games, groups that had been easy targets for throwaway jokes in GTA V. Rockstar has never commented on that report. In the same period, the next-gen version of GTA V quietly removed several pieces of transphobic content from the original. And GTA's history here is bad enough that PinkNews asked, when Trailer 2 came out, whether the franchise's LGBTQ+ representation could be fixed at all: Vice City's "Psycho" mission, the misgendered sex workers in GTA V and Online, Trevor's sexuality used as a shock gag.
What is not on the record. No trans character has been announced for GTA 6, and none is visible in the screenshots or trailers. The theory that Lucia is secretly a trans woman, which spread after Trailer 1, was never based on anything in the footage; it was a campaign by people who wanted an excuse to be angry at a female lead, and I am only mentioning it so that you know what to ignore.
What the screenshots actually show, read as evidence. Three things, and I will be honest about how far each one goes.
First, the salon. Rockstar names Sara's Unisex Salon and describes it as offering "facial hair for Jason and makeup and nails for Lucia." The word unisex is in the name. The described options are gendered by character. That is a description of two fixed leads, not a statement about what you can or cannot put on either of them, and it tells us nothing yet about whether Jason can sit at the manicure table. Unknown, not ruled out.
Second, the men's clothes. Leonida's men wear pink, florals, mesh, pastel suits, fur-trimmed coats, open shirts and chains that previous GTAs would have played for a laugh. The Vintage Vice City Pack puts Jason in a pastel suit on purpose. Nobody in any screenshot is pointing at it. That is a tone, and tone is what the Bloomberg report was about.
Third, Lucia herself. The series' first playable woman in nearly thirty years is written as the brains, dressed across more looks than any GTA character before her, and in the Extended Look she escapes a man in a stiletto heel. Rockstar has not told a story about gender here; it has simply stopped treating a woman in the lead as the joke. For trans players that is the floor, not the ceiling, but the floor used to be much lower.
Where that leaves it. Freedom in a GTA has always meant the wardrobe, and the wardrobe is the open question. If Stock 305 sells the same rails to Jason and Lucia, if Sara's lets either of them have the nails and the beard, if the outfit wheel does not care which body it is dressing, then trans players will have the thing they have asked for since GTA Online: to look how they want without the game commenting. Rockstar has shown the shops. It has not shown the rules. I will write the follow-up the day it does, and I will be standing outside Sara's with a list.
The quick read
- Ambrosia bikers: cuts, patches, bare ink. Membership. Supply the sugar town. Unnamed.
- Only Raw Records: prints, chains, fur, lashes. Business. Boobie's club, Dre'Quan's hustle, the Dimez' feed.
- Raul's crew: white suit, plain dark clothes. Anonymity. Banks.
- Heder's boat yard: tank tops, caps, shorts. Camouflage. Smuggling.
- Port Gellhorn: shirtless, tattooed, dirt bikes. No crew, just heat.
- Trans players: nothing promised, nothing mocked, the rules of the wardrobe still unknown.
Quick answers
What gangs are in GTA 6?
Rockstar has shown three organised groups: the Ambrosia biker gang that supplies the sugar town, the Only Raw Records circle around Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest and the Real Dimez in Vice City, and Raul Bautista's bank-robbing crew. Brian Heder's smuggling operation in the Keys is a fourth, smaller one. Rockstar has not named the biker gang.
Can you join a gang in GTA 6?
Not confirmed. Jason already works for Brian Heder and Raul Bautista recruits for scores, so the story runs through these crews, but Rockstar has not described a gang system like San Andreas had.
Do clothes matter in GTA 6?
Yes. The police track your clothes as one of four leads, a full change of outfit clears it, and every crew in the screenshots dresses to a code. Our fashion guide has every outfit Rockstar has shown.
Is there a transgender character in GTA 6?
Rockstar has not announced one. The Lucia rumour from Trailer 1 was a bad-faith theory with no evidence. What is on record is a 2022 Bloomberg report that Rockstar asked GTA 6 writers to be less crude toward transgender people and other minorities, and the 2022 removal of transphobic content from GTA V's next-gen version.
Can you play as a trans character in GTA 6?
The leads are fixed: Jason and Lucia. The screenshots show gendered salon options (makeup and nails for Lucia, facial hair for Jason) and nothing yet about cross-gender clothing or a shared wardrobe. That is unknown, not ruled out.
