RDR2 Weapons
All 72 Story Mode weapons, from the Cattleman to Calloway's Revolver. Search, filter, and find every unique.
Every weapon Arthur and John can use in Story Mode, with magazine size, the gunsmith price and how to get it. Uniques can't be bought, and some are missable, so grab them when you can. Prices are base prices: honor and the Special or Ultimate Edition can lower them. Online-only guns such as the Navy Revolver, Elephant Rifle, Henry Repeater and Lowry's Revolver are left out.

Gun care and loadouts
Keep them clean
Guns get dirty with use and lose damage, accuracy and reload speed. Gun Oil from any gunsmith or general store cleans them; Arthur cleans in the inspect menu.
Two sidearms, two long guns
Arthur carries two holster weapons and two long arms on him. The rest stay on the horse, so swap at the saddle before a fight.
Pick ammo for the job
Varmint rounds and small game arrows keep small pelts perfect. Express rounds hit harder; High Velocity fly faster. Split Point and explosive rounds are crafted.
Customise at the gunsmith
Barrels, sights, wraps, engravings and metal finishes. Some upgrades change range, reload and accuracy; most are cosmetic.
Uniques are free
The best-looking guns are unique variants from quests and hidden spots. Calloway's, Flaco's, Granger's and Midnight's all come from the Legendary Gunslingers quest.
Throwables save ammo
Throwing knives and tomahawks are silent and can be picked back up. Fences sell them from Chapter 2.
Quick answers
How many weapons are in Red Dead Redemption 2 Story Mode?
Our list has 72 weapons and weapon types, counting firearms, the bow and arrow types, throwables, knives, hatchets and tools such as the lasso. Online-only guns like the Navy Revolver and Elephant Rifle are not in Story Mode.
What is the best revolver in RDR2?
Most players settle on the Schofield Revolver or a unique variant such as Calloway's Revolver for damage and range. The Double-Action fires fastest. The LeMat carries the most rounds plus a shotgun shell.
How do I get the unique guns?
Most come from side quests. Calloway's, Flaco's, Granger's revolvers and Midnight's Pistol drop during the Legendary Gunslingers quest, Algernon's Revolver is a quest reward, and the Rare Shotgun and Rare Rolling Block Rifle each give you one chance. Several are missable.
Can I buy the Navy Revolver or Elephant Rifle in Story Mode?
No. Both are Red Dead Online weapons and are not sold in Story Mode.
