Cars in GTA 6 have fuel gauges, crashes damage the environment, and shooting out a pursuing cruiser's tyres can flip it. Rob Nelson told IGN the streets are narrower and more realistic than GTA V's. Confirmed
Fuel
The showcase shows fuel gauges. Rockstar has not said how fast a tank empties, what refuelling costs, or whether you can run dry in a chase. It likely matters most on long trips across Leonida, which is, by Rockstar's own description, about three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2's map, and least in Vice City traffic. Speculation
Roads and damage
Nelson's point about narrower streets means the Los Santos habit of driving at full speed down the middle of a six-lane boulevard does not translate. That matches the three-star advice in the showcase: at a sustained pursuit, get out of the car and into the alleys on foot, because escaping by road needs something very fast or a sports bike.
What is on wheels and water
The showcase and edition pages between them confirm jet skis, kayaks, airboats (Airboat), dirt bikes, street and track racing, car meets and, for Ultimate Edition owners, a Paradise Garage. See Vehicle classes.
Garages and safehouses
The pre-order Shore Court garage comes with a weapon locker and a fence. Previews described purchasable garages, and Nelson said safehouses work more like Red Dead Redemption 2's camps than the old GTA safehouses. Reported

Questions
Does GTA 6 have fuel?
Yes. The Extended Look showed cars with fuel gauges. Rockstar has not detailed how refuelling works or how often it matters.
Are the streets different from GTA V?
Rob Nelson told IGN they are narrower and more realistic, which makes reckless driving harder than in Los Santos.
