Game Informer's cover story reports a new fur system for coats and pelts, and animals sorted into tiers whose identities Rockstar is keeping secret, with tracking built in for some. Reported

Our reading
Everything in this section is interpretation. Speculation The evidence points to a Red Dead-style system: a tracking layer rather than a separate hunting mode, pelts and catches sold through the back-country economy, alligators in Grassrivers as a hazard rather than scenery, and fishing kept simple. The Ultimate Edition's Crest Kayak and Shitzu Squalo cover the rivers and the Keys on day one. If the final game shows animals only as background, the words in Rockstar's description were flavour text; we will update this page either way.
