The GTA 6 collector's box has no game in it, so Ruby read it as an outfit: the Oakleys, the snapback, the crossbody and the gator

Here is the thing nobody says out loud about the GTA 6 collector's box: there is no game in it. The Goodtime State Vice City Collection costs $399.99 and gives you sunglasses, a hat, a bag, a gator and a lot of small objects. You still have to buy Grand Theft Auto VI on top.

So I am not going to review it as a game edition. I am reviewing it as what it is: a wardrobe drop with a souvenir shop bolted on. Eleven items. Which ones would you actually wear out of the house?

Everything here comes from the Rockstar Store listing as reported by Beebom and Upcomer. Where I am giving my opinion, which is most of this, I say so.

The basics

• Name: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State, Vice City Collection.
• Price: $399.99 in the US, £349.99 in the UK. Rockstar Store only, while supplies last. Reports say one per customer.
• Ships: for November 19, launch day.
• Game included: no.
• Weight: reported at about 11 kg. That is a lot of box for a hat and some glasses.

The pieces you would actually wear

The Oakley Frogskins. Matte black, GTAVI branding, Prizm Sapphire lenses. This is the real fashion item in the box. Frogskins are an 1980s shape that never really went away, and that is the whole point of Vice City. Blue-tinted lenses on a black frame read as Miami at noon. If the box were only these glasses, I would understand the price a lot better.

The New Era 9FORTY snapback. A-frame, Vice City and Leonida details. A good hat, but a hat you could get close to on its own. The A-frame shape sits high and structured, which suits the streetwear side of Leonida more than the beach side. Wear it with the Oakleys and you are already halfway to a screenshot.

The Leonida Keys crossbody bag. This is the sleeper. Crossbody bags are what people really carry now, and naming it after the Keys, Jason's part of the state, is a nice touch. My opinion: this is the piece you will still use in a year.

The pieces that are merch, and that is fine

• Macca the Gator figure, 6 inches, with a stash compartment. The mascot of the box. The stash compartment is a joke the whole box keeps making.
• Macca the Gator magnetic mirror. For the fridge or the locker.
• Chunkee the Manatee shot glass. I will take a manatee over a skull every time.
• Vice City swizzle spoon and razor blade keychain. Leaning hard on the 1980s Vice City party-and-cocaine look. It is on brand for the series. It is also a lot of drug-joke merch in one box, so think about where you are hanging the keychain.
• Enamel pin set in a metal tin. Pins are the one thing here that actually works with clothes. Put them on a denim jacket and you have your own little crew cut. I wrote about what cuts and patches mean to Leonida's crews.
• Premium stickers in a stash bag. Laptop. Done.
• Double-sided Leonida map poster, 36 by 26 inches. Honestly useful in week one, before you know where anything is.

Is it worth four hundred dollars?

My opinion: as fashion, no. Three pieces are wearable: the glasses, the hat and the bag. Even branded and bundled, they do not add up to four hundred. The rest is souvenirs, and souvenirs are about feelings, not value.

As a moment, maybe. If GTA 6 is the game you have waited thirteen years for and you want something on the shelf that says you were there in November 2026, I am not going to tell you that is wrong. Just buy it for what it is: an outfit and a shelf, not an edition of the game.
