Tom Petty carried Trailer 1 and the Pointer Sisters carried Trailer 2; the Extended Look ran through a dozen tracks from Lil Wayne to Depeche Mode. The full list of what has been identified, and which station each might belong to.
Rockstar picks trailer music the way it picks radio stations: to tell you what year it is and what the place sounds like. Three official videos in, here is everything that has been identified, with the caveat that Rockstar has not published a tracklist for any of them and the Extended Look's list comes from listeners and the press.
Trailer 1 (December 4, 2023)
Tom Petty, "Love Is a Long Road" (1989), start to finish. Streams of the song reportedly rose by hundreds of times in the following days and it reached number two on the worldwide iTunes chart. A nineties Florida rock song over a 2020s social feed was the first hint of how the game would mix its eras.
Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025)
The Pointer Sisters, "Hot Together" (1986) carries the trailer, and the year is not an accident: it is the year of the original Vice City. During Jason's driving montage the radio flicks past Wang Chung, "Everybody Have Fun Tonight", Zenglen and 5 Etwal, "Child Support" (Haitian kompa, a nod to the city's Haitian community), and Tammy Wynette, "Talkin' to Myself Again", country for the roads out of town. "Hot Together" reportedly saw its streams rise by a factor of nearly two thousand.
An Extended Look (August 27, 2026)
The showcase is a montage, and the music changes with every clip. Identified so far: Birdman and Lil Wayne, "Pop Bottles"; Sexyy Red, "Pound Town"; Kodak Black, "Skrilla"; The Bellamy Brothers, "Let Your Love Flow"; Def Leppard, "Love Bites"; Depeche Mode, "People Are People"; Captain and Tennille, "But I Think It's a Dream"; Prefab Sprout, "Cars and Girls"; Cliff Richard, "Devil Woman"; Chimbala and Omega, "Se Me Nota"; Phil Collins, "Against All Odds"; and Elderbrook and Bob Moses, "Inner Light", which also featured in Rockstar's radio teaser.
Where they might land
Reading the six revealed stations against the list is a guessing game, but a fair one: the Southern rap belongs on Dirty South Classics, "Se Me Nota" on Cocoteo FM, the Bellamy Brothers on Back Country Radio, Def Leppard on The Chamber, and the pop on Flash FM. Rockstar has not confirmed any placement, and the full dial has not been shown. What is confirmed is that Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album adds 34 original songs on top of the licensed catalogue when the game arrives on November 19.
