Four Thursdays left before GTA 6: what Rockstar could still drop before November 19, and what is already locked in

Twenty-eight days. Rockstar has not posted anything about Grand Theft Auto VI today, at least not yet. The newest official post is still the launch trailer from last Thursday. That leaves four Thursdays between now and launch day, and a short list of fixed dates that are not going to move.

So here is the countdown, one Thursday at a time. Every date marked confirmed comes from Rockstar or Take-Two. Everything marked our guess is exactly that.

Why everyone watches Thursdays

Rockstar's week has run on Thursdays for years. GTA Online's weekly updates land on Thursdays, and the GTA 6 launch trailer arrived on Thursday, October 15, with no countdown and no warning. That is a habit, not a promise. Rockstar has never said it will post anything on a set day, and plenty of Thursdays this year have passed in silence.

Thursday, October 22 (today)

Confirmed: nothing announced as of this morning.

Our guess: if anything lands, a Newswire post is more likely than another trailer. Four trailers in, Rockstar has already made its closing argument. A post on pre-load, a new screenshot set or a look at the soundtrack would all fit. We will update this story the moment something goes up.

Thursday, October 29

Confirmed: nothing.

Our guess: this is the last Thursday before Halloween, and GTA Online usually has a Halloween event running by then. That is GTA Online news, not GTA 6 news, and we will keep the two apart.

Thursday, November 5

Confirmed: nothing on this date.

Coming up four days later: Take-Two reports its quarterly results on November 9 (confirmed). It is the last official financial update before launch. Expect questions about pre-orders, the launch date and what comes after. Rockstar itself usually says very little on these calls.

Thursday, November 12: pre-load day

Confirmed: digital pre-orders can start downloading GTA 6 on November 12, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not given an install size. Rolo has the storage maths for every console. Clear 200 to 250 GB to be safe.

Our guess: if Rockstar publishes unlock times by region, this is when they appear.

Thursday, November 19: launch

Confirmed: Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is single-player at launch. The Standard Edition is $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99. There is no PC version announced. The Vintage Vice City Pack goes to anyone who pre-orders.

Launch day is itself a Thursday, which feels about right.

What is still not confirmed

• Install size. No official figure.
• Review embargo. No date from Rockstar. We covered when reviews are likely.
• Exact unlock time. Not published yet.
• GTA Online in GTA 6. Rockstar has said the launch version is single-player. Nothing more.
• PC. Not announced.
