The basics

GTA 6 is a single-player-led open-world crime game with two switchable protagonists, a six-star wanted system, a persistent Criminal Profile and a state-sized map. Rockstar has said single-player has no microtransactions and that no generative AI was used to make the game. Confirmed

The game was delayed twice before settling on its November 19, 2026 date; the whole sequence is on Release date history and the longer story on Development and delays.

The world

Six regions have been shown: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. Rockstar describes the map as about three times the size of Red Dead Redemption 2's. Confirmed The state is the setting for hunting, fishing, a 170-species wildlife list and more; see Wildlife and Activities.

People and crews

Besides Jason and Lucia, Rockstar has introduced Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez and Raul Bautista. Three organised groups have been shown: the Ambrosia bikers, Only Raw Records and Raul Bautista's crew.
